In January 2010, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. Shortly after, my performance partner Lucky Bruno, film maker Aubrey Kessler and I joined forces with a remarkable woman Henryka Manes and EcoWorks International to deploy joy in camps, orphanages, hospitals, and schools. We didn't have money or much things to give. But we had our time and unique skills.
During our short lived experience, we were blown away and deeply moved by the humans we met and interacted with. Spines standing upright with dignity and spirits resiliently joyful.
We thank you for opening your hearts and letting the fools in.
Joy Deployed in:
Place Boyer, Camp, Haiti
Ganthier, Camp (turned around due to riots), Haiti
Champs de Mars, Camp, Haiti
ʻLaLueʼ, Camp, Haiti
Bernard Mevs Hospital, Haiti
Unknown Camp, Haiti
Ecole Boucledart, School, Haiti
Unknown Ecole, School, Haiti
We are always ready! Contact us here for our next mission.
"We visited makeshift street camps of survivors who lost everything, hospitals, schools, and anywhere we could find children. Next time I visited the street camps, the deafening silence of traumatized children was drowned by their laughter, mischief, and fun – the most beautiful sound in the world. Forever in debt to Natasha and Lucky for their life-changing gift."
HENRYKA MANES, Co-Founder and Executive Director ECOWORKS INTERNATIONAL USA/Haiti
